An e-book is the electronic equivalent of a printed book. The subject of an e-book is entirely down to the author. If you have something you specialise in, why not write on the subject and make money from your knowledge? You don't need a publisher, there are many ways to publish your own work; ebay is a prime example of authors making money from their expertise. You can write an e-book on a food recipe, education, pets or how to grow a certain flower. These are some of the ideas you can carryout in your spare time.
The benefit is that you don't need to physically pack and post your e-book. The hassle of selling is reduced as e-books are typically sent electronically via email and take very little time and effort to deliver. Also, once you have completed your e-book, you have an infinite number of copies to sell, no need to buy quantities of stock to hold and sell, you can store and re-sell you information as many times as you wish, with no extra cost. An excellent way of making money in your spare time.
Ebay is an ideal place to sell you e-book, I would start here, do some research, find out which topics are popular and decide on the content. You could also buy an e-book that is being sold with resale rights, this entitles you to sell an e-book time and time again, without having to write so much as a single word, (except for your listing of course) The down side to reselling copies instead of writing your own, is that there are probably dozens of others out there selling the exact same information as you and there is alot more competition. When you are the author of your e-book it's up to you if you want to include resale rights as an incentive for others to buy your book, or if you want to be the sole seller, and keep all the sales for yourself.
